Coached SES Division Director of a large NASA space program. Worked in the program to build a strong and resilient leadership team. Supported initiative to focus on greater inclusion.
Coached Faculty Chairman of George Washington University in Washington DC seeking support to better manage noncompliant tenured staff and conflictive faculty meetings. Helped client identify personal blind spots, greater understanding for difference, more effective communication strategies, greater appreciation for diversity on faculty team, resulting in a more collaborative and effective collegiate environment.
Coached new President and CEO of United States Department of Defense enterprise regarding leadership efficacy. Articulated the critical developmental tasks and mapping measurable business objectives and personnel challenges to accomplish goals.
Coached Vice-President of a large television broadcaster regarding conflictive issues exacerbated by intense travel. Resulted in a redefinition of personal goals and significant career change.
Coached the General Counsel of a large telecommunications company through a M&A transition. Outcome was a greater clarity of purpose, establishing and communicating a more equitable merger workout in this disruptive event.
Background
Nicholas is a highly effective coach who specializes in helping individuals improve their ability to manage themselves and others, gain strategic clarity, and enhance their overall performance. He is recognized as a Master Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation. Nicholas has worked with clients from diverse sectors, including the private sector, government, and NGOs (see attached partial list of clients).
His early career focused on the behavior sciences, working at an executive development center, university teaching, and a private practice. Later, in a career change, Nicholas became a director of an international trading company.
Currently he is the principal of Nicholas Bauman & Associates, Inc. located in the Washington DC area. He also partners with leading consulting organizations focusing primarily on leadership development, coaching, strategic planning, and organizational transformation.
Born and raised in Venezuela, Nicholas is fully bilingual. He has gained professional experience in numerous Hispanic countries, as well as in the European and APEC regions. This experience has equipped him with a diverse skill set and global perspective that he brings to coaching.
